Lab Lateral, Surrey's leading software and website development company, recently launched Lavish - an eCommerce website retailing luxury health and beauty vouchers.
Lavish gift vouchers can be bought at www.lavish.co.uk and then spent on any health and beauty treatment at any of the spas and salons listed online. This means that the eCommerce web site can help people trying to find a special gift, but also offers the double benefit of helping the gift recipient find out where to spend the voucher.
The web site brings together a transactional front end using Lab Lateral's slick eCommerce shopping basket and checkout process with a series of directory style listings pages. Payment processing was seamlessly integrated with Paypal's Website Payments Pro product - ideal for new start up eCommerce websites who want to be able to transact from day 1, but who also want to retain their own branding on the payment pages. The easy to use Content Management System means that the site can easily be edited and kept fresh with new content regularly.
Susi Pink, Managing Director of Lavish, has worked closely with the Directors of Lab Lateral to bring the project from a pipedream to reality. About Lavish
LAVISH was conceived when the founder Susi Pink was trying to buy a thank you gift for a girlfriend. She knew that her friend loved being pampered but didn't want to spoil the surprise by asking where she would normally go for her beauty treatments. So, she set about to buy a gift voucher from a local award winning salon. It proved to be a real challenge to arrange. On ringing the Salon, she was told that they did not deliver vouchers and that they could only be bought in person. After battling with traffic and struggling to find a parking space she finally made it to the Salon. On arrival all the therapists were busy with clients, after 10 minutes a junior therapist came to help, but wasn't able to sell vouchers. Eventually, the Salon Manager came to help and the voucher was bought but could not be gift wrapped.
It seemed that it would be much easier, and could bring new clients and increased revenue to Spas and salons around the country, if gift vouchers for health and beauty treatments could be simply bought online, beautifully wrapped and sent straight to the recipient anywhere in the country... so the concept of LAVISH was born!
