Web Development underpinned by Effective Information Architecture
www.clickdental.com is an eCommerce website providing a wide range of dental supplies to dental practices. The whole project is geared towards providing a streamlined and uncomplicated shopping experience that will make clients choose www.clickdental.com over the competition and bring them back to the site time and time again. Lab Lateral structured the content, products and the surrounding information in such a way that different customers' requirements can be met quickly and easily. Related and alternative products are displayed along with product information to ensure the customers find just what they are looking for. This eCommerce solution takes people through the classic sales process of awareness, information, desire and action.
Collaboration with Creative Agency
To produce an effective eCommerce solution, Lab Lateral worked closely with one of our creative partners, Rubber Cheese, on this project. Together we ensured that the graphics and images used in the sales channel were supported by functionality that makes the buying process quick and easy. Product information is displayed along with product images throughout the sales chain so the customer does not lose interest in the product. A great effort was made to improve poor quality product images received from suppliers to the standard required for the website.
Web development with Easy Navigation and Usability
A significant aspect of the planning and design phase of this web development was to translate the information architecture into a usable navigation system, ensuring the process of finding products and buying them is pain free and time efficient for the customer. For example, the Search function enables customers to easily search for products and then displays them in an attractive manner to showcase all items to their maximum potential. The Customer Account Portal is streamlined to provide the customer with as much information as they need to reorder their products quickly and effortlessly. The customers can see a list of their previous orders so that they are just a click away from making their next purchase.
Content Management System and eMarketing Solution Integrated with Internal System
The web development was integrated with WayMade's internal systems on several levels. Lab Lateral's Content Management System ensures that administrating site content is a simple process. Managing the products properly will pay dividends in terms of increased sales by allowing better customer interaction with the website. Customer orders are downloaded to the fulfilment house for quick delivery and stock management. Any price changes or amendments to stock are immediately synchronised with the website. Our eMarketing Solution gives WayMade an internally managed and straightforward means of communicating with their customers.
Implementing an Effective Online Marketing Campaign
The next step in this project is to improve www.clickdental.com's search engine listings through our Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Solution. Lab Lateral's Online Marketing Department has conducted an initial analysis and forwarded a recommendation for the SEO campaign. We will also be expanding the Supplier section of the website and develop further integrations with the internal systems.
