Successful eCommerce Web Development for Astro Gaming

Astro Gaming is the market leader in the production of competition level video and audio gaming products in the US, with their direct online sales growing substantially in recent years. They estimated that the European market had a similar potential and selected Lab Lateral to develop an eCommerce website that would mirror the success of the US website.
Web Development with Specific Requirements
The web development was aimed at introducing Astro Gaming products to new European customers as well as streamlining the shopping process for an already established, albeit limited, European clientele. The project had to be completed quickly and to the same web design and layout specifications as the US site, to ensure brand compliance. They required a multi lingual web development with multi currency options. The eCommerce solution had to be integrated with our fulfilment partner, Walker Logistics, for shipment of orders throughout the entire European region.
eCommerce Solution with eFulfilment
The web development's eCommerce solution had to match the online shopping experience of Astro Gaming's US site. Lab Lateral tailored their existing eCommerce solution to the European market, ensuring PCI compliance and allowing for differences in consumer expectations. The online shopping facility had to incorporate a 'Related Products' functionality to maximise basket value as well as offering useful products such as batteries and cables to go with the chosen product. This simplified the shopping process, resulting in a successful eCommerce solution from the outset.
Lab Lateral configured the eCommerce solution to integrate with Walker Logistics, the eFulfilment provider for Astro Gaming, so that on receipt of a new order it could be immediately and accurately fulfilled.
This eCommerce solution provided full customer management, allowing users to log in and see their previous order history so that they could make repeat purchases, and for site administrators to alter and change records.
Multi Lingual and Multi Currency Web Development
The web development was launched in English, with French and German translations to follow as the business developed. To satisfy this requirement, Lab Lateral provided a multi language function that could be deployed when needed. New languages could be set up with their own separate channel and could be individually managed and edited. The web development also incorporated a multi currency facility, with Euros and British Pounds as the two initial currencies. The system allowed Astro Gaming to add new currencies as required.

It was important for Astro Gaming that the entire web development project was managed by Lab Lateral so that the European web development operation did not take the focus away from the US and other expanding markets. We fully managed the relationship between all parties, including Walker Logistics and the creative team, making the online operation in Europe a huge success whilst minimising the time Astro Gaming was required to spend on the project.
